US agency to fund IDS rehabilitation centre

KARIMNAGAR: Nava Jyothi, a voluntary organisation working in Medak and Karimnagar districts in collaboration with the Volunteers of America and the State Government has decided to establish a rehabilitation centre in Karimnagar for the welfare of the HIV and AIDS affected mothers, children and orphaned children.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Nava Jyothi executive director B. Manohar Rao said that the Volunteers of America had come forward to set up rehabilitation centres for HIV and AIDS infected and affected people of the state at Guntur, Hyderabad and Karimnagar. He said that the government had come forward to allocate land and bear 20 per cent of the cost for the setting up of rehabilitation centre to the voluntary organisations.

This centre will be having 24 houses with a counselling centre and skill development centre also for the benefit of HIV affected mothers.
