Mere Jeevan Saathi (Hindi) Akshay Kumar, Amisha Patel and Karisma Kapoor Director: Suneel Darshan Suneel Darshan's `Mere Jeevan Saathi', a film lying in the cans for long, is finally out. And how one wishes it weren't! This time, no thanks to the lead actors, including Akshay Kumar, Amisha Patel and Karisma Kapoor. The fault with Darshan's film does not lie with Karisma or anybody else. It just lies with Darshan. He turns a perfectly fine script into a moth-eaten one with a high dose of glycerine and all-sacrificing love. Sick! When will we outgrow girls ready to give up all for nincompoops! Here Karisma uses a guy, Akshay to fulfil her needs. She showers him with money and affection. Of course, the guy becomes a big singer thanks to her banner, but his heart lies with a simple girl next-door - Amisha, who is still trying to rekindle her "Gadar" fire. If Darshan had used his story better, it could have been a new version of "Aitraaz" where Priyanka Chopra bowled all of us over with her mean streak. And "Mere Jeevan Saathi" is reduced to yet another film where promise far exceeds performance. Want to watch it for Karisma? Go ahead. Want to watch a film that you can enjoy with your date? Stay away. The chances are your jeevan saathi might just take it as a positive affront.
