NEW DELHI:
The Delhi High Court on Friday deferred till Monday the hearing on the Anil Ambani-controlled Reliance Airports Developers' petition seeking to set aside the award of contracts for modernisation of the Delhi and Mumbai airports to GMR-Fraport and GVK Industries.
When the matter was called for hearing, Chief Justice M. Katju said he was transferring the matter to the court presided over by Justice M.K. Sharma. He did not give any reason. The case file was immediately transferred and the parties rushed to Mr. Justice Sharma's court.
However, before the Division Bench took up the matter, counsel for GVK Industries R. Karanjawala said Justice O.P. Dwivedi, brother judge on the Bench, did not hear cases argued by advocates of his law firm. Though counsel did not give any reason, it is said Mr. Justice Dwivedi's daughter works in Karanjawala & Company.
