DHARWAD: A total of 56 persons, including nine children, have been hospitalised when they started vomiting after eating a sweetmeat at a wedding here on Friday. The police said the incident happened at a wedding held at Modern Hall off P.B. Road. Soon after eating sweetmeats, the people started complaining of uneasiness and started vomiting. They were immediately shifted to SDM Medical Hospital. They are out of danger. The Dharwad police have registered a case against supplier of the sweets.
Recovered
The Hubli police have arrested one person and recovered electronic goods including car stereos worth Rs. 2 lakhs here on Friday. The arrested, Sriraj Devadas Naik, is a resident of Arjun Vihar, Hubli. The police said he confessed to stealing electronic goods with the help his friend Vasim Ismail Khan, who at present is under judicial custody in connection with motorcycle thefts..
