Rajkot: The home team skipper Jaydev Shah's robust half century before he retired hurt an hour after lunch, helped Saurashtra reach 250 for six at stumps on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group final at the Madhavrao Scindia Stadium here on Thursday. However, it was Ajay Jadeja's leadership in the face of hardship that stood out. Jadeja, without the services of Sanjay Gill who had taken 28 wickets in the Plate Group competition up to the final, deployed his forces well. Young seamer Afroz Khan (three for 46) did not belie the captain's faith in him. Dishant Yagnik, who had spilled a catch on Wednesday evening, did not fritter away five nicks that came his way.
