Nitish Government has 'failed': Lalu

"No own plans, implementing Centre's schemes"

PATNA: Railway Minister and RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad today said the NDA government in Bihar, led by Nitish Kumar had ``miserably failed'' in preparing its own schemes and was busy implementing the Centre's programmes.

He challenged his wife`s successor to disclose even a single developmental scheme of his government and alleged that Mr Kumar was trying to grab the credit of the schemes being launched by the Centre.

He further alleged that Mr Kumar was even shying away from releasing funds for construction of approach roads of the railway bridges.

``The Nitish government was incapable of constructing the approach roads which was responsibility of the state government,'' he said alleging that Mr Kumar was now desperate to get such roads constructed by the central agencies.

Mr Prasad offered special prayer at the new official residence -- 10 Circular Road allotted to his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi -- and hosted a feast.

He said his special efforts to keep the communal forces at bay and propagate the message of social justice would continue.

Mr Prasad lamented at the announcements made by Mr Kumar about his government going hi-tech and alleged that all such dreams of Mr Kumar would "die'' in Bihar, ``where electricity was a major problem.''

He said Mr Kumar was not at all a ``seasoned ruler'' and running the government was not ``child's plays.''

Mr Prasad cited towards the leaders with criminal antecedents in the JD(U), including Prabhunath Singh, Ananat Singh, Munna Shukla and others and alleged that the criminals were running their parallel government in the regime of Mr Kumar.

``The sudden spurt in crime was an open testimony to the failures of the Nitish government, who had promised to make the state crime free within three months of coming to power,'' he said. - UNI
