Orders reserved in Acharya case
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
The Madras High Court will pass orders on February 7, on a petition challenging a Tamil Nadu Government Order appointing Special and Additional Special Public Prosecutors to handle the Sankararaman murder case trial in a Pondicherry court.
Justice M. Jeyapaul reserved orders after K.S. Dinakaran, counsel for the Kanchi Acharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, and Special Public Prosecutor M.S. Kandasamy concluded their arguments on Friday. The Acharya has submitted that the Territorial Administration alone was empowered to appoint prosecutors for a case being heard in a Pondicherry court.
