Thiruvananthapuram: Vehicle-parking fees at railway stations in Thiruvananthapuram railway division has been revised, considering the interests those leaving bicycles and other two-wheelers on the station premises. The monthly parking fee for cycles and two-wheelers at Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Junction, Ernakulam Town and Thrissur stations will be Rs. 30 and Rs. 100, respectively. At other stations, it will be Rs. 40 and Rs. 60, respectively. A release by the Railways said the purpose of introducing slots for parking for 12 hours or more was because of the limited parking area available at stations. Since the Railways had not been able to obtain additional parking space, introduction of these slots had become necessary.
