Hyderabad : The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has ridiculed the TDP's claim that the Gachibowli stadium was damaged due to the AICC plenary held at the venue recently. In a statement here on Friday, Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and whips -- D. Sridhar Babu and S. Udaya Bhanu -- said the TDP was drifting listlessly without any constructive political agenda. Its problems seemed to have compounded after the recently drubbing in the civic elections. The main Opposition party was trying to pick holes in everything that the Government did out of desperation, they said denying any damage to the stadium. The popularity of the Congress Government was not to the liking of the TDP and it was attempting to disrupt sporting events by raking up a non-existent controversy, they said. Referring to the demand of compensation for the damage to the track at Gachibowli, they said the Government must levy a penalty on the Telugu Desam Party for damaging the rural economy during its rule. During its nine-year rule, the Telugu Desam dealt a serious blow to important sectors like agriculture, irrigation and health. Its lopsided priorities and policies had pushed the State into a debt-trap, they said.
