HYDERABAD: In a significant development, the Government on Friday transferred both Guntur Inspector General of Police Rajwant Singh and Superintendent of Police V. C. Sajjanar. Mr. Singh has been transferred and posted as IGP (Sports) while Mr. Sajjanar has been asked to report to the office of the Director General of Police for further posting. Both the IPS officers did not see eye to eye on key issues like police transfers and handling the murder case of TDP leader Anji Babu in Narasaraopet. Nellore Superintendent of Police B. Shivadhar was shifted and posted to Guntur. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic - II), Hyderabad city, N. Suryanarayana, will take charge as Nellore Superintendent of Police. Several other IPS officers were also transferred. Assistant Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) A. Ravishankar has been transferred and posted as SP (Special Intelligence Branch). The Government also issued orders transferring SP (Intelligence) P. V. S. Rama Krishna as SP (Vigilance and Enforcement).

Similarly K. V. V. Gopala Rao, Regional Intelligence Officer, Visakhapatnam, is transferred and posted as Joint Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). B. V. Ramana Kumar, SP (V & E), Vijayawada, is retained and posted in the same office in the ex-cadre post to be created. P. Muniswamy, SP (Intelligence), is posted in the office of the DGP. Four IPS officers of the 1980 batch were promoted to above super time scale in the rank of Additional DGP. On promotion, C. N. Gopinatha Reddy is retained and re-designated as Additional DGP, Visakhapatnam region and Vizag region Coastal Security by upgrading the post of IGP. Lokendra Sharma, Director Vigilance and Security, APSRTC, is retained in the same post in the Transport, Roads & Buildings Department upgrading the post. On promotion, Madan Lal is posted as Additional DGP (Home Guards). Ambati Sivanarayana is retained and re-designated as Additional DGP (Intelligence).
