Staff Correspondent

Villagers seek better transport facilities

Madikeri: Kodagu Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav has asked KSRTC officials here to examine the proposal for providing buses to remote rural areas of the district.

He was presiding over the Transport Adalat here at the Old Assembly Hall on Friday. He said he had received many petitions from villagers requesting transport facilities to their villages from cities and towns. They must be given priority, Mr. Yadav told the KSRTC depot manager here.

The KSRTC official stated that he will take steps to conduct a survey of the routes and discuss with superiors before introducing bus services to the rural areas. He sought the cooperation of bus owners to respond to the pleas of commuters.
