Christian leaders' plea to YSR

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A delegation of Christian leaders met Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy here on Friday seeking protection to lives and properties of Christians in Nizamabad area from "some fundamentalist groups".

The leaders said terror was being unleashed against Christians in Nizamabad district. They cited the attack on pastor Aaron on January 12 and pastor David and three others the next day allegedly "by groups owing allegiance to the RSS".

They thanked the Chief Minister for taking prompt action in bringing the culprits to book, regarding the murders of two pastors earlier. A memorandum submitted to Dr. Reddy spoke of how tribal Christians in Dangs district of Gujarat were reportedly being terrorised by RSS activists.
