Schools on illegal premises: court seeks report

Expresses concern over violation of building bylaws even in the case of schools

HYDERABAD:
The Division Bench of the A.P. High Court took serious note of the complaint that schools in twin cities were being run in unapproved structures and asked for a report in this regard.
The Bench was reacting to the complaint from an architect that Pragati Vidya Niketan at Bagamberpet, Hyderabad was functioning in one such building. The complaint was treated as writ petition.
The petitioner said while the permission was for ground floor plus one floor and a part of the second floor, the builder constructed ground floor and three other floors. The Bench asked senior advocate E. Manohar to assist the court in this regard and directed the Chief City Planner and Director of School Education to depute senior officers and submit a report regarding the complaint.
The Bench expressed concern at the fact that the building by-laws were being violated even in the case of schools.
