Reception to Kalotsavam winners

KOCHI: The district education authorities will accord a reception to the winners of various competitions in the recently concluded State School Kalotsavam. E.T. Muhammad Basheer, Education Minister, will inaugurate the programme at Hotel Highway Gardens on Friday at 10 a.m. — Staff Reporter

Free medicine distribution

KOCHI: Preventive homoeo medicines against jaundice and chicken pox will be distributed free of cost through the homoeo dispensaries of Kochi Corporation at Mattanchery on February 8 and 10. The Health authorities of the Corporation also reviewed the mosquito control operations that are being implemented under the filariasis control programme. — Staff Reporter

Workshop

Kochi: A workshop on hacking was held at Excel 2k6 organised by the students of Model Engineering College. Papers on hacking were presented on the occasion. P. Radhakrishnan, scientist of Indian Space Research Organisation, spoke on Avionics. Experts also spoke on "Engineering applications in Naval systems". A quiz on Information Technology was held as part of the event. — Staff Reporter

Anniversary

KOCHI: The 450th anniversary of the erection of the Dioceses of Cochin began at the Our Lady of Fatima Convent school premises on Friday. J.M. James, Judge of Kerala High Court, inaugurated the year-long celebrations. Austin Paul presided. — Staff Reporter
