KOCHI: Two more houses in the district were broke open and gold ornaments forcibly taken away during Thursday night. According to the police, criminals broke open the house of Janakiamma, 75, a retired teacher, at Muriamangalam, Mamala, at around 11 p.m. The criminals snatched seven sovereigns of gold ornaments before leaving. At around the same time, another group forced their way into the house of Rukmini Amma, 65, retired nurse. Residents of the house said that the criminals spoke Tamil.
Five arrested
Five persons were arrested by the Ernakulam Town North police station on charges of dacoity.
