SALEM: The Department of Economics of Periyar University will conduct a two-day national-level seminar on the impact of New Economic Policy on the Indian Economy on Monday and Tuesday. More than 100 economists, government officials, research scholars and social workers will participate in the seminar and discuss the impacts of the New Economic Policy on agriculture, industry, environment, co-operative, labour welfare and social welfare sectors. A total of 44 research papers will be presented during the seminar. Leading economist S. Bisaliah, Chairman of the Karnataka State Agriculture Price Commission, will deliver the keynote address. Science quiz
The Department of Atomic Energy, Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Council, and the C.S.I. Polytechnic College will conduct a State-level science quiz and essay writing competitions in connection with the Atomic Energy Week celebrations on February 9. Students studying in Class IX and Class XI are eligible to participate in the quiz and the college students are eligible to participate in the essay writing competition.
