Stone laid for research centre

Gulbarga Universiry will be first to introduce the concept

FOR A NOVEL ENDEAVOUR: Karnataka High Court Judge S.R. Bannurmath laying foundation stone for Learning Research Centre of Gulbarga University Library on the main campus of the university on Saturday.

GULBARGA: Karnataka High Court Judge S.R. Bannurmath on Saturday laid foundation stone for the Rs. 111-lakh Learning Research Centre assisted by University Grants Commission (UGC).

The centre will be an extension of the library with latest Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and e-learning facilities on the main campus of Gulbarga University.

The university will be the first in the country to introduce the concept of e-learning with modern networking facilities.

According to University Librarian Ravi Gaddagimath, the centre will have a separate CD-ROM library and a research centre with more than 100 networked computers.
