Two youths die as scooter skids

KADAPA: Two scooter-borne youth had a fatal fall when the two-wheeler skidded and hit the parapet wall of Eturu bridge at Kamalapuram on Friday evening. Eturu Pushparaju, (23), and his cousin Thappeta Chittibabu, (24), of Eturu village in Khajipet mandal died on the spot. Pushparaju was bringing material required for his aunt Kamalamma's funeral, along with Chittibabu, when they lost their lives, according to the police. The Kamalapuram police registered a case.

Electrocuted

In another incident, a lorry cleaner Balu, (28), was electrocuted when the sugarcane-laden lorry came into contact with overhead electric wires dangling at a low height near Gontuvaripalle village in Kasinayana mandal on Friday night. Bare-footed Balu was thrown off the lorry due to electrocution when he tried to raise the wires with the help of a stick and came into contact with the power lines. Sensing trouble, lorry driver Krishnaiah jumped off the vehicle and saved himself.
