India bounces back with win over Australia

Colombo: India was back to its winning ways beating Australia in the second and last warm-up match ahead of the ICC U-19 World Cup, which starts here on Sunday.

The win was built on an impressive bowling display by the India, which bundled out the Australians for just 174 in 44.3 overs.

Incisive bowling from Ravinder Jadeja, who captured 4-17, broke the back of Australian batting line-up and at one stage it was reeling at 108 for eight.

Captain Moises Henriques offered prolonged resistance among the top-order as he made 44, but failed to get support from other batsmen as India came up with a reassuring display after Thursday's loss to England.

Cakewalk

Australia was given some degree of respectability by Simon Keen (30) and Adam Ritchard (22) but the total proved wholly inadequate as India cruised home with 11.2 overs in hand. Opener Cheteshwar Pujara top-scored with 60.

There were wins for England, Namibia and Nepal too as the players went through their final preparations.

Black caps beaten

Meanwhile, New Zealand, along with Australia, was inflicted with a second defeat from two matches as it ran into a West Indies side that flexed its batting muscles for the second game running to secure a crushing 130-run win.

Bangladesh was given a scare by Zimbabwe, but survived it to win a thrilling match by just three runs.

England made it two wins out of two matches with a 16-run victory over South Africa.

Namibia secured a hard-fought three-wicket win over U.S.A . — UNI
