Semifinalists spotted
Kottyam:
Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kottayam and Thrissur entered the semifinals of the 35th State junior hockey championship held at the CMS College ground here on Saturday.
Thiruvananthapuram topped pool `A' to qualify while Kottayam made grade as the top team from pool `B'. Ernakulam and Thrissur became group winners in Pool `C' and `D' respectively to qualify for the semifinals.
The results: Ernakulam bt Wayand 2-1; Kottayam bt Kozhikode 3-0; Thiruvananthapuram bt Kannur 3-0; Ernakulam bt Malappuram 2-0. Kottayam bt Kasaragod 6-0; Thrissur bt Idukki 6-1; Kannur bt Pathanamthitta 4-1; Malappuram bt Wayanad 2-0; Kollam bt Idukki 8-0; Kozhikode bt Kasaragod 2-1.
