Woman charged with killing husband

Sangareddy: A 30-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday on the charge of killing her husband.

According to the police, Erukala Durgamma, a native of Narsingi of Papannapet mandal, reportedly confessed before the Sangareddy rural police that with the help of two others she killed her husband and dumped his body in a well as he objected to her illicit relationship with one Ghanapur Mallesh, (35), of Madhira of Kohir mandal. Her neighbour Indiramma of Alugolu also helped her to carry out the crime, the police said.

According to Sangareddy CI Venkateswarlu the accused made Laxman to drink alcohol and then smothered him to death on January 31. Durgamma told the police that she planned the murder with the help of the other two as her husband warned her to sever relationship with Mallesh, a fellow worker at the Venkateswara cement works near Pothyreddypalli crossroads.

Following her confession, the police went to Kothlapur and fished out the body from the well. The Sangareddy rural police registered a case against them.
