HYDERABAD : Vaarttha, one of the leading Telugu dailies in the State, has completed 10 years of its operations on Saturday. A galaxy of dignitaries from film and political fields, besides industry participated in the decennial celebrations organised here this evening. Prominent among those who attended the event included Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Union Ministers Sushil Kumar Shinde, T. Subbirami Reddy and M.M. Pallam Raju and State Ministers K. Rosaiah, Ponnala Laxmaiah and Mohd. Ali Shabbir as well as noted Telugu hero Chiranjeevi. The Chief Minister, who released a special commemorative volume of the daily, said the newspaper had built a reputation of its own in a short span of time by its unbiased and public-oriented reporting. He appreciated the daily for launching a series of campaigns on social stigmas including the latest series on HIV/AIDS. Mr. Shinde and Mr. Subbirami Reddy also complimented the daily for championing public causes in the interest of society.
