MYSORE: Congress Working Committee member and the former Minister G. Parasmeshwar has threatened to launch an agitation if Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediurappa fails to publicly apologise for "selectively" removing the portrait of B.R. Ambedkar from his chamber. Addressing a press conference her on Sunday, Mr. Parameshwar said that the Congress will chalk out an action plan and expose the "anti-Dalit" stance of the Government if no amends are made to mollify the sentiments of people. Questioning the moral right of the alliance in power, Mr. Parameshwar said coalition is based on statistics and head counts and has not come together on ideological grounds. He described the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda's stance during the crisis as ambivalent and added, "We gave Mr. Deve Gowda a carte blanche to have his say in the selection of a new Chief Minister in a bid to save the ruling coalition but he failed to act."
