Adoor felicitated

For the residents of Panampilly Nagar in Kochi, it was a red-letter day on Saturday. The guest of honour was the renowned film director Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

He was felicitated by the Panampily Nagar Centre for Performing Arts.

Centre's president P. Parameswaran Nair, who is known as `Kerala Saigal,' welcomed Adoor, who was recently chosen for the Dada Saheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan, with a ponnada. The former IAS officer P.C. Cyriac and the corporation councillor V.K. Thangaraj were present. Staging of Mohiniyattom, Bharatanatyam, Naganritham and Samoohanritham followed the felicitation ceremony.
