U.S., India to fight human trafficking

NEW DELHI: The United States and India on Tuesday agreed on starting a project to strengthen the system for tackling trafficking of women and children for sexual exploitation more effectively.

The U.S. Government would provide an assistance of $ 2 million for the project, which is being taken up under the aegis of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

The project would involve a series of training programmes for law enforcement officers.
