Let petition come: Tandon

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Election Commissioner B.B. Tandon said on Tuesday that he would examine the allegations against Election Commissioner Navin Chawla after receiving a petition on the matter. He would refrain from making any comment till then.

"I can't give you any reaction at this time. One of the political parties has said that they will file a petition before the Chief Election Commissioner. I will consider the matter in all its entirety — legal, propriety and all that is relevant."

He told reporters this when his comments were sought on reports that Mr. Chawla had taken donations from Congress leaders for a family trust.
