Dharmapuri: A demonstration of modern agricultural implements will be held at A. Mallapuram village in Palacode taluk on February 11. Officials from Departments of Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering and Scientists from the Regional Agricultural Research Station at Paiyur will participate in the camp, said the Collector M. Chandrasekaran here on Tuesday.
Training camp
The Department of Agricultural Engineering has invited applications from farmers for attending a training camp on operation and maintenance of agricultural implements. Farmers in the age group of 18 to 40 years will be eligible to attend the camp. Training would be held for a period of two weeks.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be arranged for the participants. Preference would be given to farmers who have availed subsidy from the Department of Agricultural Engineering at Dharmapuri. A stipend of Rs.20 a day would be given to the farmers.
Last date
Interested farmers in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts can submit applications with the Executive Engineer, Agricultural Engineering, Office of the Joint Director of Agriculture, Dharmapuri, on or before February 15, Mr. Chandrasekaran added.
