Ludhiana: Defending champion Dempo Sports Club (Goa) and JCT (Phagwara) played out a goalless draw in the seventh round of the 10th National Football League here on Tuesday. Both teams failed to score in the regulation time. Right from the word go, Dempo, which was without seven of its injured star players, played for a draw. It did not make any serious attempt or move to score. On the other hand, JCT lost three opportunities to score. In the first half, Parveen failed to dodge custodian Abhijit Mondal of Dempo when there was no one else between the two. Similarly, Johnson and Baldev too missed chances to score. Julius Akpele of JCT was declared the man-of-the-match. Dempo now has seven points while JCT has six. PTI
