Popular Hyundai car rally

KOCHI: The Motorsports Association of Kerala will be conducting the Popular Hyundai TSD car rally here on February 12.

Held as part of the Cochin Flower Show, the 120-km rally will be flagged off from the Rajendra Maidan at 9 a.m. by Mohammed Hanish, the Ernakulam District Collector.

TSD, or time-speed-distance, rallies test the driving skill of the driver and the calculation skill of the navigator. Every car is individually timed to the second, at undisclosed time controls at different points on the route.

The event is open to all Indian nationals with a driving licence and a car and entry is limited to the first 50 vehicles. Each team must have a minimum of two members and a maximum of four, including ladies.

The rally is approved and run by the regulations of the Motorsports Association of India. For registration and other details, contact the MAK secretary Shajan Daniel (tel. 98471-77050), Devkumar (98470-47266) or Philip (98471-82963).

A Formula LGB racing car will be also kept on display at the flower show venue from February 9 and 10.
