New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh said on Tuesday it would construct a dam across the Palar river and complete other irrigation projects in the State without hampering the interests of other States. "Without hampering the rights of other States and within our rights, whatever we have to do we will do," Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy told reporters here. He was responding to a question on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's letter to him objecting to reports of Andhra Pradesh's plans for constructing a dam on the Palar near Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Reddy said it was such a small project that he was unaware of it until he received Ms. Jayalalithaa's letter. "I have received a letter from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and I have responded to that," he said. PTI
