Cop allegedly commits suicide

CHANDIGARH: Head Constable Ishwar Singh, posted as a guard at the Hissar residence of former Haryana Chief Minister and Haryana Congress president Bhajan Lal, allegedly committed suicide early on Tuesday morning by shooting himself.

According to the Hissar police, Ishwar Singh, belonging to the Third battalion of the Haryana Armed Police, allegedly shot two rounds in his chest from his carbine early in the morning. He was rushed to the civil hospital at Hissar where he was declared brought dead.

He had been posted at the Hissar residence of Mr. Bhajan Lal for the past six months. Police investigations are on.
