A team to visit Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh

JAIPUR: A team of the Rajasthan State Water and Sanitation Mission will shortly visit Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh to look into the scope of giving "Nirmal Gram'' prizes to the two districts in the wake of their success in operating the total sanitation campaign.

A meeting of the Mission's executive committee, convened here on Tuesday, was informed that the two districts had achieved 75 per cent of the targets set under the campaign. The Mission's team will include a representative of UNICEF, who will solicit nominations for the prize.

The Secretary, Public Health Engineering, Bharat Meena, presiding over the meeting, said a significant progress had been made in the construction of toilets in schools across the State as part of the total sanitation campaign. The campaign has set the target of building toilets in 9,170 schools.

The progress of `Swajaldhara' programme was also reviewed at the meeting.
