MYSORE: Revenue Department officials of Mysore City Corporation (MCC) sealed two shops in Lansdowne building on Tuesday, following non-payment of rent by the tenants. Several tenants in the building were granted the two days' time they sought for paying rent. It is learnt that of the 98 tenants in the building, 25 owe the MCC dues amounting to over Rs. 4.5 lakhs. The rent collection drive has been launched to recover dues from tenants in MCC buildings. Dues were recovered from shopowners in buildings on Kalidasa Road, Dhanvantri Road, Makkaji Chowka, Mandi Market and Vani Vilas Market. Sources said 1,800 shopowners had to pay over Rs. 1.25 crores as dues.
