ADILABAD: Former chairman of Andhra Pradesh Handloom Weavers' Cooperative Society (APCO) B. Similarly, he demanded a hike in Central assistance for housing given to weavers from Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 75,000.

Mr. Nageswara Rao camped for the day in Adilabad with his 58-member group of weavers enroute to New Delhi from Bandarulanka as part of the Chenetha Jyoti padayatra. Talking to reporters he also demanded strict implementation of the Handloom Reservation Act to protect employment opportunities of weavers. His other demands included revival of Janata scheme and implementation of 20 per cent rebate in marketing handlooms for 150 days every year.

Relay runners with a torch took out a padayatra in town raising slogans in support of the demands.
