CHANDIGARH: A total sanitation campaign would be launched in Haryana with the cooperation of the Department of Rural Development of the Central Government. An official spokesman said here on Wednesday that Block Development and Panchayat Officers had been directed to conduct a survey in their respective areas for the implementation of the campaign. He said that while 60 per cent of the expenditure of the campaign would be borne by the Central Government, 20 per cent would be shared by the State Government and remaining 20 per cent by the beneficiaries. The Additional Deputy Commissioners have been made over all in- charge for the effective implementation of the campaign. The report of the works undertaken would have to be sent to the State headquarters every month where it would be reviewed every third Monday of the month.
