Hard-fought win for South

VISAKHAPATNAM: South Zone scored a hard-fought win over East Zone to record its third win in the all-India SAI inter-region volleyball tournament at the Port Indoor Stadium here on Thursday.

South beat East 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21 in the last match of the day. It earlier beat West and defeated Army in the inaugural match.

The results: East Zone bt Army 19-25, 24-26, 25-11, 25-15, 15-3; South bt West 25-23, 25-14, 25-14; Central bt Army 25-20, 25-13, 25-19; South bt East 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21. — Special Correspondent
