`TDP padayatra political stunt'

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has said that any party that undertook "padayatras" with commitment would always win the hearts of people.

"Padayatras for the sake of publicity will not yield results," he said while interacting with officials on Thursday to review the healthcare facilities for Telugu Desam party leaders, who had undertaken a "padayatra" for Godavari waters, according to a press release from his office.

Asserting that proper care should be taken by the health team accompanying the leaders, Dr. Reddy took a dig at the TDP padayatra.

He said he had undertaken the 68-day "padayatra" in 2003 to know the sufferings of the people under the TDP regime.
