Power shutdown

CHENNAI : Power supply will be suspended on Saturday, February 11 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in CIT Nagar, Saidapet East, Pulianthope, Alwarpet, TV Pet, S.K.Nagar and Chepauk due to maintenance work.

Mahasamprokshanam

Mahasamprokshanam of Sri Villakoli Perumal Vedantha Desikar temple at Thoopul Thiruthanka will be held on Friday from 7.15 a.m. to 8.15 a. m. Divyaprabhandam and Vedaparayanam will be recited.

Carnatic music appreciation course

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, will conduct a three-month Carnatic music appreciation course from February 17. Juvenile Guidance Bureau golden jubilee

The golden jubilee celebration of Juvenile Guidance Bureau was conducted last month. R. Nataraj, Greater Chennai Police Commissioner spoke. B. Maharajan, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, participated in the programme. K. Vasavan, Assistant Programme Advisor, NSS Regional Centre, spoke on the role of youth and NSS. S. Nataraj, Patron, delivered valedictory address. A workshop on role of youth and contribution to society was also conducted as part of the celebrations.

NSS unit special camp begins Sunday

A 10-day special camp of the NSS unit of Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts and Science College will begin from Sunday at Minjur. Free eye camp and veterinary camp would also form part of the NSS camp.

Equipment donated

Anns Rotary Club of Madras North West donated a resuscitation kit and steriliser to the Child Adoption Centre run by Kalaiselvi Karunalaya. The Centre houses 33 babies including 13 newborns.
