Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Government on Thursday ordered the indefinite shut down of a local newspaper for reproducing controversial cartoons of Prophet Muhammed. Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is also the Internal Security Minister, ordered the immediate suspension of Sarawak Tribune's publication permit after it reproduced the controversial caricatures on Saturday, Bernama news agency reported. ``It is an embarrassing situation for us, because Malaysia is holding the OIC [Organisation of Islamic Conference] chair and it involves an Islamic matter,'' the Star newspaper quoted Malaysia's Law Minister Radzi Sheikh Ahmad as saying.
