Van knocks down three cricket fans

BANGALORE: A van knocked down three persons, killing one of them, Ravi Gupta (24) at Kalyananagar in Frazer Town traffic limits on Thursday.

The victims were watching a cricket match being played at a playground on 6th A Cross. Standing on the roadside, they did not notice the van. While Gupta died on the spot, his two friends, Raju and Suraj were admitted to a hospital with injuries. According to the police, the three were employed in a tile factory and were put in a house in R.T. Nagar. They were originally from Uttar Pradesh. The Frazer Town traffic police have taken up a case in connection with the accident.

Fire accident

Fire broke out in a cluster of huts at Jedimara on Bannerghatta Road in the early hours of Friday. The Fire and Emergency Services despatched two fire tenders to the spot. The cause of the fire was not known.
