NIZAMABAD: Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation Gone Prakash Rao said that people have understood the reasons for the hike in bus fares and thus are not expressing opposition. It was only the Opposition that was making a hue and cry and it had no people's support for its agitations against the fare hike, he said while addressing a press conference here on Friday. Moreover, the demand for operation of RTC buses to villages was on the rise from womenfolk, he said. Referring to the Mumbai High Court's decision, he said if anyone, including the Opposition parties, damage the RTC buses, the Corporation would approach courts to get compensation from them. Hailing the decision of the Maoists that they would not damage RTC properties in future, he complimented Maoist leader Ramakrishna for adopting a positive approach.
