NEW DELHI: The Congress on Friday said the latest suggestion from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to the Bharatiya Janata Party to `cosy up' to the Samajwadi Party exposed the nature of relations between the SP and the BJP. Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi, reacting to an article that appeared in the Organiser, the official organ of the RSS, said there have been several instances in the past to show that both the SP and the BJP enjoyed good equations. The RSS advice now proved that the organisation had the "remote control'' on both the parties. "The advice of the RSS to the BJP to cosy up to the SP should be given the attention it deserves. Of course the advice encapsulates what has been an open secret for some time,'' Mr. Singhvi said. When SP leaders were booked for violations of law by the BJP-supported Bahujan Samaj Party Government in Uttar Pradesh, the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, had spoken in support of the SP leadership. Mr. Singhvi said another example was the sari distribution stampede in Lucknow ahead of the 2004 general elections and the sole political party to speak up for it was the SP.
