Protest against Minister's proposal

KOLLAM: The NGO Sangh has protested against the statement of Finance Minister Vakkom Purushothaman that the recommendations of the Pay Commission will be taken up for talks with the political parties.

In a statement here on Friday, State president of the sangh M.S. Shyamkumar said the Government should not deviate from the tradition of holding such talks with the employees' organisations. He said the budget speech did not contain anything on payment of DA dues to the employees.

This means that the Government was forcing the employees to resort to a strike. The measure for accident insurance is welcome but no allocations have been made for the medical reimbursement of employees.
