New Delhi: After withdrawing the Revenue Management Company tender issued earlier this week, the BCCI announced on Friday it would combine the tenders for terrestrial and global satellite rights. The new tender will have a minimum guarantee of $450 million, combining the minimum guarantees ($350 million and $100 million) for the earlier two proposed tenders, a BCCI press statement said. The chairman of BCCI's marketing sub-committee, Lalit Modi, said the recent Supreme Court ruling on telecast rights made the cricket body do away with a separate tender for national broadcasters Doordarshan. ``The recent ruling of the Supreme Court regarding broadcasting rights on Doordarshan has changed the dynamics of the situation and as a result BCCI had to do away with a separate tender for Doordarshan marketing only,'' he said. The tender winner will then sort out details regarding sharing of India rights with Prasar Bharti according to downlinking guidelines of the Centre. Mr. Modi said now BCCI would deal with one party which would provide a level playing field for all bidders. The tender is expected to be awarded on February 17. PTI
