Sikandar clinches gold

Hyderabad: Sikandar of Hyderabad District won gold in the men's 56kg competition of the AP State inter-district judo championship held at Nizamabad recently.

Sheikpet PG wins

Sheikpet PG beat Sanjeevi Club 25-22, 25-19, while Victory PG defeated Manju Mia Ka Tabela 25-21, 30-28 in the two matches in the MCH open volleyball tournament in Hyderabad on Friday.

AIIE's road race

The All India Industrial Exhibition Society sports committee will conduct its annual road race in co-ordination with the Hyderabad District Athletic Association from the BJR statue on Feb 12 at 6.30 a.m. Details can be had from Rajesh Kumar (ph: 92465 29013).

Electricity chess

Vijayawada's K. Lakshminarayana of AP Electricity Board, has been selected to participate in the all-India Electricity employees' chess tournament at Chhattisgarh from February 14 to 16.

Match drawn

Sagar Soccer held Fort Union FC 1-1 in a district `A' division football league at Visakhapatnam on Friday. V. Rajesh scored for FUFC in the 10th minute of the game and Rajakumar converted a penalty for Sagar.

Sambabu memorial

The district-level Bolla Sambabu memorial body building and sepak takraw competitions would be conducted at the Railway Institute in Vijayawada on February 14 and 15, organising secretary B. Vijay said on Friday.
