Rewari (Haryana): The Haryana Government is committed to providing a minimum of Rs 19 lakhs per acre for agricultural land acquired for development purposes in different parts of the State, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Friday. ``We are committed to providing the fairest of prices to our farmers for land acquired from them. The government would provide a minimum of Rs 19 lakhs per acre as against the meagre Rs 1.5 lakhs which the previous Chautala Government gave them,'' Mr. Hooda said at a public function here to mark the 61st birth anniversary of late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot. Mr. Hooda, who unveiled a statue of Pilot here, assured the gathering that the interests of the locals would be the priority while chalking out any major development projects. Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh, Pilot's son and Dausa MP Sachin Pilot, his mother Rama Pilot and other Congress leaders spoke at the function.
