Staff Reporter

AC bus services to Hyderabad from all district headquarters soon

  • More non-stops services between Hyderabad and Sangareddy will be launched
  • A new bus stand will be built in Narayankhed
  • 200 special bus services to Edupayala will be operated

Sangareddy: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) board director and Hyderabad Zonal Advisory Committee Chairman

    K. Sanjeeva Reddy announced that the corporation has set a target of 70 per cent occupancy ratio for this financial year.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday Mr. Sanjeeva Reddy said that the corporation would run 30-seater mini buses in the not-so profitable routes on trial basis.

He said that steps taken by the Government to revive the financially sick corporation has shown good results and the `Manachetullo Mana Bhavitha' programme has brought the much needed behavioural changes in conductors and the drivers. The RTC, which is on a fleet expansion drive, will launch AC bus services to Hyderabad from all district headquarters soon. Elaborating plans for the Hyderabad zone Sanjeeva Reddy said that 500 new buses would be added to the zone in which 32 would be hi-tech and Medak would have its share of 60 buses.

He said that more non-stops services between Hyderabad and Sangareddy would be launched and a new bus stand would be built in Narayankhed.

He said that steps have been initiated to control the continuing presence of private operators in the vicinity of the bus stands. Private security guards could be put use to regulate the menace of the private maxi cabs and three wheelers near the bus stops.

    Sivaratri specials

The Hyderabad zone will be operating 200 special bus services to Edupayala, 400 for Keesara and 300 for Srisaialam to cater to the needs of temple tourists on the occasion of Sivaratri.
