SSLC students to check question paper packets

KSEEB introduces certain changes in examination


  • The SSLC examination scheduled to begin on March 16

  • Examination in `sensitive schools' to be videographed

    Bangalore: Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has announced certain changes in the conduct of the SSLC examination scheduled to begin on March 16.

    This year, 8.2 lakh students will appear for the examination with 6.9 lakh appearing for the first time. There will be 2,486 centres in the State. Among the candidates, 309 are visually impaired persons.

    Two students will check question paper packets in the examination hall before they are opened. The signatures of the students will be obtained. The answer papers will be attached to the question papers and two additional sheets will also be provided and more in the case of mathematics papers. These can be used for rough calculations too. The examination centres will follow a "cluster system" to accommodate all students, as followed in previous years, the board said. The question papers will be available in 12 languages. Physically disabled students given additional time to write the examination. The board has made arrangements to distribute hall tickets on time.

    The Deputy Commissioner and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executives will set up vigilance squads to inspect the centres at the district and taluk levels. These squads will go around with video cameras and visit three centres each day.

    The Deputy Commissioners have been asked to coordinate their work with the Education Department officials and monitor daily events at the centres and also take strict action to curb malpractices, recommending cancellation of an examination or conducting re-examination and even cancelling recognition to a school. The board said examination in "sensitive schools" will be videographed as directed by the Director, Evaluation, T.A. Kumar.
