Two-day philatelic exhibition

"Karavaliplex - 2006" will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

UDUPI: The Dakshina Kannada Philatelic and Numismatic Association will organise a district-level philatelic exhibition titled "Karavaliplex - 2006" here on Saturday and Sunday.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, president of the association M.K. Krishnayya said that as many as 137 philatelists from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts will exhibit nearly 35,000 stamps at the exhibition.

The main objective of the exhibition is to encourage and promote philately among children and budding philatelists.

There will be around 250 frames in the exhibition. Of these 56 are under the invitee class and have won awards at the State, national and international levels. As many as 19 frames of Nehru Philately Clubs will be on display. The exhibition will be held at Haridwara Hall, Hotel Kediyoor complex, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Entry is free and one can purchase new and old stamps at the exhibition.
