CHENNAI: The management, staff members and students of Chettinad Vidyalaya, the kindergarten section of Chettinad Vidyashram, took part in the celebrations of the 20th Annual Day on Thursday.

Meena Muthiah, Secretary and school correspondent, said, "We elders learn so many things when we teach children. In our institution, we believe that love and affection are the two most important inputs."

"I am like their grandma, mama and friend," she said.

"Twenty years ago, this school was started with about 20 students. Now it has grown like a banyan tree. I am all the more happy to be here as my grandson is a student of this school," said S.Ashok Kumar, Judge, Madras High Court.

Managing children is not an easy task. But since the correspondent has a good rapport with the children here it is more about affection than fear, he said. Lakshmi Ashok, Headmistress of the school presenting the annual report gave an account of the activities held during the academic year and prizes won by the children of the kindergarten section. A cultural programme by the tiny tots followed.
